要花多少钱
第一张驾照
驾照本身 $40，再加 $5 的交通信息系统费，第一张 C 类驾照总共 $45。成年人如果先办学习驾驶许可（instruction permit），这笔钱要付两次，共 $90。
这笔钱在申请时缴纳。
如果你刚到美国
你的移民身份
如果你没有永久居民身份，拿到的证件是临时的，有效期只到你的移民文件所准许的期限。证件的类别栏会印有 NR（非居民）代码，或顶部印着“LIMITED TERM”（限期）字样，或两者都有。
没有到期日期的外国证件
对于卡面上没有印到期日期的外国驾照，怀俄明州没有公布任何规则。你是否必须参加笔试和路考，取决于你在申请前的两年内是否持有有效驾照，而你的驾照算不算数，由考官判断。
你的社会安全号码（SSN）
提交号码，以及谁能看到它
申请驾照、学习驾驶许可（instruction permit）或身份证的每个人都要提供社会安全号码（SSN）；申请非商业驾照而没有号码的人，则提交一份宣誓声明书说明这一点，作假要承担伪证罪责任。该部门可以把你的信息发送给社会安全局局长（Commissioner of Social Security）进行核对。
要参加的考试
视力检查
双眼一起看时视力要达到 20/40，戴不戴矫正镜片都可以。检查可以由考官、验光师或眼科医生来做，日期须在申请前 12 个月以内。
标准是双眼视力 20/40（戴不戴矫正镜片均可），且双眼水平视野合计至少 120 度——如果一只眼失明，另一只眼的视野要至少 90 度。视力在 20/50 或更差时，只要你能证明自己可以安全驾驶，仍然可以拿到带限制条件的驾照。
如果检查没通过，你可以提交一份验光师或眼科医生出具的书面视力证明，日期在最近三个月以内，写明你达到了所申请驾照类别的视力标准，凭它仍可获批。怀俄明州没有规定再试之前要等多久，也没有限制尝试次数。
路考
每位申请人都必须参加笔试和视力检查，但怀俄明州法律并没有强制要求实际驾驶演示——考不考由主管部门决定。法律里没有针对 C 类驾照的免试条款。
笔试能考几次
如果没考过，同一份笔试一天之内最多只能考两次。怀俄明州没有公布总次数上限，隔天再考不需要等待，也不收补考费。
笔试练习题
手册的版本是 2021 年八月的，由怀俄明州交通部（WYDOT）驾驶人服务项目编制，所以它早于 2024 年的 WYDOT 规则。

拿着许可练车
练车时谁能坐在你旁边
有这张许可，你开车时必须有一位 18 岁以上、持有至少与你所驾车辆同等级有效驾照的人坐在副驾驶座上。规则没有说明外州驾照或外国驾照算不算数。

谁陪你去
你开车时，必须有一位年满 18 岁、持有驾照的人坐在副驾驶座上，而且这个人的驾照必须覆盖你所驾驶的车辆类型——只有小客车驾照的人不能陪同摩托车练习。手册没有为技能考试本身单独规定规则。
考试用车和保险
驾驶技能考试的车要你自己准备——怀俄明州交通部（WYDOT）不提供车辆，怀俄明州也没有公布租车或借车的替代方案。
考试用车必须合法上牌、登记并投保，驾驶座和前排乘客座都要有安全带。刹车和刹车灯、前后车灯、转向灯、喇叭、车内后视镜和驾驶侧后视镜、能从车内和车外打开的车门、没有遮挡视线裂纹的挡风玻璃、正常工作的雨刷，以及没有磨损起层或鼓包的轮胎，都必须状态良好——任何一项不合格，车辆都可能在考试开始前被拒。
这些要求针对车辆本身，而不是车主是谁：车必须合法上牌、登记并投保，驾驶座和前排乘客座要有安全带，车况良好，而且由你自己提供。

(D) Commercial drivers with monocular vision who do not meet the vision standards outlined in this section but comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) vision standard are eligible for interstate driving upon the Department’s receipt of a federal medical examiner’s certificate from a qualified national registry doctor that is valid for no more than 1 year from the date of issue of the certificate. (iii) Applicants with a visual acuity of 20/50 or worse, with or without correction, that demonstrate the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely, and the license is issued with the appropriate restrictions based upon the vision screening and driving skills test results. (iv) Applicants who previously failed the vision screening if they present a written vision statement from an optometrist or ophthalmologist dated within the last three months showing an acuity as outlined in immediately preceding paragraph (i) or (ii) with or without corrective lenses.”
