来美国后，在内华达州拿到你的第一本驾照。
流程是这样的
- 1刚到这里你搬到了内华达州，想在这里开车。
- 2学习许可你拿着学习驾驶许可（learner's permit）上路练车。
- 3笔试你参加笔试。
- 4路考你坐上驾驶座，参加路考。
- 拿到驾照你通过考试，驾照就到手了。
费用多少
第一本驾照
$41.50 可申领标准 8 年期非商用驾照，前提是你在 64 岁或以下。另外还列有一项 $17.50 的费用。
一张非商用身份证（ID card）收费 $8.50。
这笔钱在申请时缴纳。
如果你刚到美国
没有到期日的外国证件
内华达州接受没有到期日的 Resident Alien Card（外籍居民卡，I-551 表）作为合法居留证明，与未过期的永久居民卡一样有效。
需要带的材料
- 仍在有效期内的证件你出示的证件必须未过期。
- 车管局（DMV）可以拒收过期证件，也可以拒发驾照，或两者都做。护照、I-551、工作许可（EAD）、签证或 I-94 都必须未过期；唯一的例外是没有到期日的 I-551，这种会被接受。
- 有一种证件没有到期日也被接受：旧版 Resident Alien Card（外籍居民卡，I-551 表），签发时就没有到期日。
- 身份证明清单上的证件必须未过期。
你的社会安全号码（SSN）
提供号码，以及谁能看到它
车管局（DMV）会通过 Social Security Online Verification（社会安全号码在线核验）系统核对你的号码。
如果你已经获发社会安全号码（SSN），就必须出示证明：你的社会安全卡原件，或车管局（DMV）接受的其他证明，比如雇佣记录或联邦所得税申报表。申请信息会以电子方式存储，以防被擅自使用，并对你的个人信息保密。
要参加的考试
视力检查
如果没有进行性眼疾，视力达到 20/40 或更好可获得完整驾驶资格；差于 20/40 到 20/70 之间只能在白天驾驶（这是驾照上的一项限制，不是拒发）；差于 20/70 则无法获得驾照。如果有进行性眼疾，仅限白天驾驶的区间到 20/60 为止，并且每年要做一次眼科检查；如果一只眼睛为 20/100 或更差，另一只眼睛按 20/40、20/50 和差于 20/50 来评定。
如果视力筛查不通过，你既拿不到驾照，也不能参加路考；可以提交内华达州医生或验光师出具的报告，但报告仅供参考。视力 20/40 或更好，在每一种情况下都算完整驾驶资格；仅限白天驾驶的区间，在没有进行性眼疾时到 20/70 为止，有进行性眼疾时到 20/60 为止（外加每年一次眼科检查），另一只眼睛则到 20/50 为止——前提是有一只眼睛为 20/100 或更差；低于这个区间就不符合条件。
路考
车管局（DMV）可以根据你的驾驶记录，要求你参加驾驶技能考试。
更新一本已过期 4 年或以上的驾照，也需要参加这项技能考试。
笔试练习题
如果你无法用英语或西班牙语学习，笔试时可以使用口译员，但任何路考都不可以。口译员不能是家庭成员，每次考试都必须带上政府机构、法院、教育机构或非营利倡导组织出具的批准信，外加一份签名的声明和一份宣誓书（Affidavit of Oath，DLD 11 表），口译费用由你自己承担。
用学习驾驶许可练车
练车时谁可以坐在你旁边
你开车时必须随身带着学习驾驶许可（learner's permit），去路考的路上也一样，而且必须有一位符合条件的持照司机坐在你旁边的座位上。
必须有一位年满 21 岁、并且在许可所对应车型上有至少 1 年持照驾驶经验的持照司机，坐在你旁边的座位上。
这份许可允许你驾驶摩托车以外的机动车。
