搬到美国后，在佛罗里达州拿到你的第一张驾照。
流程是这样的
- 1抵达你已经搬到了佛罗里达州，想在这里开车。
- 2学习许可你拿着学习驾驶许可（learner permit）上路练车。
- 3笔试你参加笔试。
- 4路考你亲自上车参加路考。
- 拿到驾照考试通过，驾照就是你的了。
费用
第一张驾照
首次申领 Class E 驾照的费用是 $48，学习驾驶许可（learner's license）已包含在内。税务官办事处（tax collector office）可能另收一笔服务费。
这笔费用在申请时支付。
如果你刚到美国
没有有效期的外国证件
佛罗里达州对每一位申请人都进行考核，持有其他州或其他国家驾照的人也不例外，所以你的外国驾照上没有有效期并不影响什么。
如果你另一个州的驾照已过期
佛罗里达州的免试政策只适用于上交仍然有效的驾照。如果你外州的驾照已经过期，你就要像首次申请人一样参加佛罗里达州的考核——视力检查、听力检查、笔试，以及 Class E 驾驶技能考试。
要考的考试
视力检查
任一只眼睛的视力低于 20/40，就会被转介给眼科专科医生；如果视力无法再矫正，20/70 仍可能符合条件，但如果双眼都在 20/80 或更差、且都无法矫正，就拿不到驾照。如果戴矫正眼镜能让你达到标准，驾照上会注明限制：开车时必须佩戴。
双眼视力达到 20/40 或更好（无论是否佩戴矫正眼镜）即可通过，无需转介，同时你的视野必须至少达到 130 度。望远式镜片不计入这一标准；达不到最低要求的驾驶人，其驾驶资格会被吊销。
路考
需要
笔试可以考几次
任何人若被发现在考试的任何部分作弊或以其他方式规避考试，都必须重考。
佛罗里达州没有公布笔试次数上限；路考一年内最多考五次。你至少要答对 80% 的题目才算通过，作弊则当场判为不及格。
笔试重考费用为 $10。
如果笔试或视力检查没通过，只要办事处当天还有考试时段，你当天就可以再考一次。已经通过的笔试和视力检查，即使路考没通过也不必重考，只要成绩仍在记录中。

这本手册最后一次修订是在 2023 年八月，此后佛罗里达州议会作出的修改并未收录。手册与法律不一致时，以法律为准。

持学习许可练车
练车时谁可以陪同
一位年满 21 岁、持有你所驾车辆类别驾照的驾驶人。此人必须坐在最靠近你右侧的座位上。
路考要带什么
谁陪你去
持学习驾驶许可（learner license）开车时，每次都必须有一位年满 21 岁的持照驾驶人坐在最靠近你右侧的座位上——也就是副驾驶座。年满 18 岁的申请人则完全不受学习驾驶许可限制的约束。
如果需要，可以带一名语言翻译随行；除此之外不允许其他乘客。
佛罗里达州的考试规则只对车辆提出了要求——检查、保险和车牌。规则并没有说是否必须有持照驾驶人陪你去参加考试。
考试用车和保险
车由你自己提供，须挂有效车牌并带保险证明，考试前会先检查车辆。如果考官发现喇叭、后视镜、转向灯、转向系统、刹车、轮胎、车灯或雨刮有故障，玻璃裂纹遮挡视线，车门缺失或座椅不固定，或者牌照注册已过期，考试就不会进行——而且车上每个人都必须系好安全带。

由谁主持考试
佛罗里达州高速公路安全与机动车辆管理局（FLHSMV），通过其网上考试系统 ADLTS 进行。
A Treasure Coast Driving School, Inc.（atreasurecoastdrivingschool.com，941 SE Central Parkway, Stuart, FL 34994，电话 772-220-0510）提供驾驶技能考试，但不提供笔试。
驾驶技能考试在 FLHSMV 驾照办事处和提供驾照服务的税务官办事处（tax collector office）进行，也由第三方考试机构主持。你可以在私营第三方考试机构参加路考，不是只能去州办事处。
