I am on a TN visa approved at the POE and am about to move. Is it normal that I don't have an A-number? When I file the AR-11 online, will I get a confirmation receipt or see it in my USCIS account, and should I file both online and by mail to be safe?
You must report your new address to USCIS within 10 days of moving. You can do this online through the ,[object Object], tool, which allows USCIS to process the change almost immediately and eliminates the need to mail a paper form. If you have a pending ,[object Object],, ,[object Object],, or ,[object Object], case, you cannot use the online tool and must follow special email or paper procedures.
You do not need an ,[object Object], to submit your update. The official forms only ask for an A-Number "if any," and instruct you to enter "N/A" if you do not have one.
It is normal to file without an A-Number. The official instructions for USCIS forms state that you only provide an A-Number "if any." If you do not have one, you simply type or print "N/A".
You access the E-COA tool directly inside your USCIS online account under the "My Account" dropdown menu. Because the tool lives inside your account, your address update is linked directly to your profile.
You do not need to file both online and by mail. Changing your address online eliminates the need to file a paper Form AR-11 by mail.
